What’s new in DBS for Parkinson’s disease?

Presentation Description
People living with Parkinson’s disease generally experience an excellent response to medical and exercise therapy for years from the time of diagnosis.  Over time however, symptom control can become inconsistent with tablet therapy. In this context, Deep Brain Stimulation, a surgical therapy involving implantation of a permanent neurostimulator device, can be very effective in re-establishing consistent control of physical symptoms and improving quality of life. Driven by changes in device technology, Deep Brain Stimulation has undergone a major evolution in recent years. This presentation reviews recent developments in the field.
