Olivia Nassaris has an extensive background in both communications and advocacy in aged care, higher education and health both in Brazil and Australia. Her role as CEO of Parkinson's SA has given her strong expertise in business development, key strategic partnerships, philanthropic grants and communications.
Under her dynamic leadership she has created a client-centred hub with professional services focussing on living well as we age. Parkinson’s SA recently moved to a bigger and better-equipped office and client space. The former Parkinson’s SA building next door was transformed into The Good Health Collective – a group of allied health practitioners who specialise in Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.
At the heart of everything Olivia focusses on maximising choice, independence and wellbeing for older people and people with movement disorders. With those aims in mind she founded Parkinson’s SA’s social enterprise Brain x Body Fitness Studio.
The Brain X Body Fitness Studio focuses on body and brain health through exercise that encourages neuroplasticity. The mission is to provide members from middle-age onwards with access to world-leading equipment and technology that enables them to reach and maintain their optimum brain health, flexibility, balance and active ageing. Recently, she positioned Parkinson’s SA to become a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation ensuring the organisation’s capacity to provide improved support to people living with Parkinson’s or another movement disorder, increase awareness and research funding into the area.
